*BREAKING NEWS* Stand-off at Kuckoo Korral Update (..gag…)

O, here we go again, folks.  The Congressional stand-off.  Just like all the other stand-offs.  We fools need to think Congress is at odds with each other, or with Prez-O, in order for us to think they’re actually at odds with each other..  our so-called two-party farce force..  so us little people will think their representatives are actually fighting principled for us..  for our good benefit! *bwahahaha*  They’ll go on TV and bad-mouth each other, too..then hook-up later for their usual cluster gigglefest!  Hey! Hey! Hey! We snowed’em again, guys!

Silly sausages.

Wanna make a bet the stand-off ends at the 11th hour?

UPDATE (4.9.11):  DRUDGE REPORT headline:  11th HOUR: LET’S MAKE A DEAL.
[And no, I’m not Drudge. *smirk*]
(Obama) Takes credit for ‘biggest annual spending cut in history’..
[That’s PR spin at its best, folks.  ‘They’ must be worried. ;]

The Daily Caller‘s Mike Riggs offers up the most exquisite quote of the day. He describes the essence of  the magnitude of moment.  In this instance, Obama adviser Valerie Jarret’s faux pas expressed during an upscale dinner hosted by the hoity-toity Alfalfa Club (whoa!..of Spanky and Our Gang fame!?!);  she flags down a general parading several stars walking in front of her table, Garçon! “I’d like another glass of wine,” (Mike Riggs) puts Jarret’s bona-fried line right up there with Joe Wilson’s “You lie!” screech and the Jesse Jackson cutting remark into a hot mic that he wanted to castrate Obama – with the following zinger:

Like coal crushed into diamonds by the pressure of a million eyeballs, such moments are forever.

Now that line is a thing of beauty!

Democrat prevents vote on Black Panther case until after midterms; damning report leaked

The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights was set to vote on a 131-page draft report about the Obama administration’s decision to drop the Black Panther voter intimidation case today — but a partisan Democratic member prevented the commission from doing its job. Michael Yaki walked out of the meeting before the vote, preventing the commission from reaching quorum, a procedural motion designed to stall for time. A report now seems unlikely to be released until after the midterm elections.

However, the left-wing blog Talking Points Memo obtained a leaked copy of the report, which details credible allegations of Justice Department evasion, dissembling, and possible perjury before the commission. The document reveals a commission at the end of its rope dealing with a “recalcitrant” administration that refuses to investigate “serious allegations” of selective and racially discriminatory law enforcement, harassment of dissenters, and a politically controlled Justice Department bowing to the demands of left-wing pressure groups rather than the dictates of justice. (And contrary to TPM, “Much of the commission’s draft report is” not in fact “based on an anonymously sourced story” that appeared in the media. As the report makes clear, several DoJ career officials exposed a pattern of wrongdoing in the decision making process that reached at least as high as the Attorney General of the United States, Eric Holder.

Suck-Up or Sucker? Bill Maher: “I don’t have to apologize, do I, for not wanting the Western world taken over by Islam?”

Yes, Bill, you do.  If you want to keep a cool head about it.

Bill Maher Afraid Mohammeds, Islam Taking Over Western World.*  And all this time *tricksy titters* I thought Maher was a Liberal!  Imagine that.  When did he become a crazy, far-right, Tea Party nutjob?

Sane(?), far-left, Marxist, nutjobs?

Hey, Juan!  Move over.  Share your Faux Pas cell with Bill Maher.  That is, if you want to be a Good Samaritan.

About that Prez Obama ‘Keys to the Car’ analogy being brandished around town..

  1. Remind Prez Obama that he’s now in the driver’s seat, but as passengers of this great nation, we citizens have gone from the back seat into the trunk, gagged and bound, headed towards Point-of-No-Return.  No exit. No mas.  No poco.
  2. If the Bush administration ‘drove’ us into the nation’s present pileup, then Prez-O should have taken Bush’s wrecked car to the Auto Shop for repairs. Instead, Prez-O grabbed the keys,  jumped into Bush’s car before the smoke cleared, peeled out in reverse on sparkin’ rims, slammed on the brakes, slammed it into ‘drive’ again, put the pedal-to-the-metal and on warp-speed, rammed that clunker into the same pileup! Again, and again, and again..      Jackass 3D (as in 3 times dumb, dumb, dumb).
  3. Now, to put it all into perspective, when Prez-O took the wheel, he not only veered into the far-left lane, but hopped the median strip, crossed lanes, drove up and over sidewalk vendors, screamed down Main Street zig-zagging across the street from side-to-side, mowing down innocent, strolling shoppers until he finally ran out of gas (literally&figuratively), leaving behind inexplicable carnage and piles of bodies in his wake.  Compare to Bush’s exaggerated codpiece. Okay?

President Obama in political death knell? Read Mark Halperin’s TIME article..

Mark Halperin,editor-at-large and senior political analyst for TIME, has delivered, in my opinion, a considerable blow to Prez-O’s tenure so far; “..most politically engaged elites have reached the same conclusions: the White House is over its head, isolated, insular, arrogant and clueless about how to get along with or persuade members of Congress, the media, the business community or working-class voters. This view is held by Fox News pundits, executives and anchors at the major old-media outlets, reporters who cover the White House, Democratic and Republican congressional leaders and governors, many Democratic business people and lawyers who raised big money for Obama in 2008, and even some members of the Administration just beyond the inner circle.”

WOW.  This is incredible. *tricksy titters* Is Halperin ringing in Obama’s political death knell?  Sounds like it.  Reading the article, I almost feel sorry for the guy. (I said almost ;) Halperin lays out a credible argument enumerating Obama’s incompetence and inability to ‘play nice’ with all the political principles that go along with ‘governing’ the world nation.  My words. Well, that’s what it looks like to me.  He should be concentrating on the home front, but he’s taken it upon himself to be the world’s savior and that, my friend, is not in him.  He’d been thrown onto the world stage by the same elite clowns who now seek to toss him out into the lion’s den.  All’s that’s missing is the loincloth and chariot.

And I do take issue with Halperin’s take on the Republicans as seeming to have no specific answers to problems or Halperin’s charge of obstructing job creation.  The Democrats merely haven’t let the Republicans bring their solutions to the floor and take part in ‘brain storming’.  Big difference.  I’m a C-SPAN junkie and know how one-sided everything has been with the Democrats, politically-speaking.  Actually, they deserve what they get.  Frankly, I think this is the worst presidency of all time.  And I’m not the only one to think so, apparently. *snort*  So former president Jimmy Carter must be smiling somewhere in the world Today.  Hey! Hey!

Needless to say, Mark Halperin deserves a Medal of Honor for speaking the truth to power in times such as these.  Thank you, Mr. Halperin for telling it like it IS.  You did a great service to your country. Truth.

Mortgage lenders using flawed court papers to evict homeowners

AG’s of “up to 40 states plan to announce soon a joint investigation into banks’ use of flawed foreclosure paperwork,” according to an item posted at CNBC online, according to a person who spoke on condition of anonymity cuz the investigation has not yet been made public.  (hunh? so we’re reading this from under a rock..? :>)  Apparently the mortgage industry won’t be happy until they get what they want.  Perhaps that would be an America as a third world country? It’s the mortgage industry that got us into this mess.  They should get us out of it. No more taxpayer dollars to foot the bill for an industry that didn’t play by the rules. The mortgage industry should use its own money, not ours. Why should we pay for their con games?

Rules suck.  Just ask the average American who’s held accountable for every infraction imaginable.  There’s a law on the books for practically every human endeavor.  Who’s holding the whitecollar crooks accountable for their greedfest which is wiping out the prosperity of our nation?  Who’s holding “professionals” accountable to a higher standard of conduct that anyone over 50 years of age remembers from the Good Olde Days, hunh?

This really sucks.  Whitecollar ‘skanks’, that is.

From the Crypt: Simon Johnson’s superb read ‘The Quiet Coup’ – lest we forget

It’s time to revisit Simon Johnson‘s (The Atlantic, 5/09) superb mega-synopsis ‘The Quiet Coup’ that names- names and lays out how the elite and their yes-men  brought us to our present financial meltdown.   It’s worth reading now in order to refresh We the (little, small) People’s mega-disgust and legitimate grievances against the elitist plan to transform our once-great nation into a 3rd world banana republic and bring to light any remedial actions and/or accountability by those who caused it.   In other words, no sound of thumping heads rolling down Wall Street or the halls of Congress.

Just saying..

Premium on Faith – Discount on Fact (and truth)

Well, there it is.  A succinct slogan regarding the present American mess; i.e. US indirectly paying Warlords in Afghanistan for Supply Passage. I wish I could take credit for such bon mots, but alas, PopUpCommontater is not that savvy or that smart.  I wish I could provide the name of the man who said these words.  I cannot.  He is a C-SPAN caller making comments today about the US government paying Taliban to not kill us as we supply our troops.

Something’s fishy about the delay in recovery of oil-spilling scenario

One really ought to question the motives behind the Coast Guard stopping the crude-sucking barges from cleaning up the oil spill.  Apparently, Louisianna Gov. Bobby Jindal has been fighting to get the barges to vacuum the crude oil from his state’s oil-soaked waters.  These barges had been sucking up 1000’s of gallons of oil as recent as Tuesday. Why are 16 oil-sucking barges sitting idle?  Why were they halted – and by whom?

Why is a Governor from a state on the Gulf of Mexico not told what’s going on?  It’s nucking futz.  I believe Louisiana is one of the states whose Governor received National Security Letters (NSLs) warning the Governor against forming “State Defense Forces” or face arrest for treason.  State Defense Forces are authorized by state and federal law and are under the command of the governor of each state.  State Defense Forces are distinct from their state’s National Guard in that they cannot become federal entities.” I believe the Governors of Texas and Minnesota also received NSL warnings.

Here’s a theory.  Someone is preventing/punishing the state of Louisiana from recovering from the oil-spill.  Why’s that?
